If you follow our products on ThemeForest, you’ll soon notice higher list prices on our themes and plugins. Nobody enjoys a price increase — not you paying it, and honestly not us announcing it — so we want to be completely transparent about the reason.
The short version: the platform’s cut is going up, not our margins
From July 2026, Envato is changing how revenue is split on ThemeForest. The list price you see stays the same by default — but the share that actually reaches the author drops dramatically. Roughly speaking, where a sale used to send about two-thirds of the price to the team that built the product, the new split sends the author only around one-third.
Here’s what that means for a ReacThemes product in plain terms:

And remember — the marketplace price already includes a buyer fee and commission layered on top of the item itself. Those platform-side costs aren’t going anywhere either.
Why we chose a price increase over the alternative
When the money reaching us from every sale is cut roughly in half, there are only two honest paths forward:
- Keep prices the same and quietly cut what we spend on development, testing, and support — and let you discover the difference later, through slower updates and thinner help.
- Raise the list price openly and keep funding the products at the level you’re used to.
We picked option two. A visible price increase with a clear explanation is fairer to you than an invisible decline in quality. Our commitment to regular updates, WooCommerce and WordPress compatibility, and responsive support doesn’t change — this increase is what protects it.
What stays exactly the same
Everything that matters. The same themes and plugins, the same team maintaining them, the same support inbox answered by the developers who wrote the code. The only thing changing is a number on a marketplace listing — and it’s changing because of a platform-side commission restructure, not because of anything about the products.
There’s also a better option now
Here’s the part we’re genuinely excited about: the same Envato changes that raised the commission also ended marketplace exclusivity. That means you no longer have to pay the marketplace markup at all.
